The S.S.C.C.S.D
After-School Program offers:
· Academic Assistance – Children and teens can get help with their homework as
well as receive supplemental tutoring in
subjects such as math, science, reading,
writing and computers.
· Enrichment Activities – Children enjoy arts
and crafts, music, dance, games and multi-cultural story telling with the
After-School Program.
· Development Activities – Group discussions targeting the development of
social skills (leadership, team building,
conflict/resolution) as well as health/ nutrition education and crime prevention
education, are offered for all ages.
· Mentorship – Adult to child mentorship is
provided by the S.S.C.C.S.D from both Sudanese
and non-Sudanese adult volunteers.
· Athletics – General recreation activities are
enjoyed at each session. The S.S.C.C.S.D
youth soccer league (sponsored by the American
Athletic Foundation) is also available for
those who wish to develop soccer skills and
enjoy a team sport.
